Aug 16, 2010 | Visoko
Visoko used to be known for leathermaking. Now it's the focus of international attention because of the peculiar shape of its hillsides. Semir Osmanagich says it's more than just coincidence that they're shaped like pyramids. He believes a vast network of ancient man-made structures and tunnels lies buried beneath the topsoil. If he's right, the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids would be more advanced and more fantastic than anything built by the Egyptians or Mayans. Many professional archaeologists and geologists scoff at the idea, but Dr. Semir and a small army of volunteers keep digging for proof. And most Bosnians believe they're on to something.
