This is one of the places I intended to visit when I was older and wealthier, and it seems I got half the equation right. Weather was sodden and my umbrella was always on standby, but getting around central London on foot was still a pleasure after 9 months in anti-pedestrian Istanbul. Met up with old friends from San Francisco and new friends from Laos, then had a final day on my own. Only regret was not spending most of it at the British Library.
