Transbay Transit Terminal

Labor Day 2009 • The old Transbay Transit Terminal in downtown SF was truly a haunted house, a place that delivered equal measures of weirdness, desolation, and past-its-primeness. Spent more than one Friday evening here enjoying a marathon happy hour at the venerable Cuddles cocktail bar (thanks to Mark for the introduction and to Bev, Rose, Leslie & Christina for letting me punch their dance cards). Cuddles cleared out when the TTT became too neglected, too forlorn to be of interest to anyone but the hardcore homeless. Knowing it was blocking the path of civic progress, I went to the terminal on Labor Day to take advantage of minimal commuter traffic as well as minimal security. TTT was leveled a year later, and I was glad to be far away when it came down. (video by David Hill)
