Southern Utah

October 2021 • Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef are about 60 miles apart (120 miles via scenic byway), and their appeal might depend on which generation you belong to. Youngsters and selfie hunters love Bryce because it’s fun and flashy and surreal, and older folks seem to prefer Capitol because the aforementioned are at Bryce. Conquering southern Utah in just a few days isn't possible, but now that I'm on a first-name basis with these two, I’m keen to meet a few of their cousins: Grand Staircase-Escalante, Bears Ears, Natural Bridges, Goblin Valley.
