Served as first manager of an innovative nonprofit foundation within a large, for-profit publishing and trade-show company. Coordinated employee volunteers and corporate donations to support local projects focused on homelessness, literacy, AIDS, and the environment. During first year of operation, foundation was honored by Points of Light, an initiative of President George H.W. Bush.

Coordinated services to 80 chapters of a national association for development directors who work at charities, museums, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions. Monitored legislation on Capitol Hill affecting tax deductibility of charitable contributions, wrote articles for biweekly and monthly newsletters, and assisted with planning of board meetings and national conferences.
